Default avm what is the prognosis

I'm a 70 yr old retired bricklayer, symptoms fro years with numb feet, cold feet, numbness and strange feelings in legs. started going to neurologist, many tests in 2003. in 2004 was sent to emory univ.hosp in atlanta, dr. david barrow, who did surgery .no complications from surgry was left with a dragging left leg (slight) sent home after 10 days in hosp to care of local neuro dr.
was told that surgery would not correct amage already done, but wd prevent further nerve /muscle deterioration. didn/t happen that way...4 years later, still hv nerve pain, muscle weakness especially in legs, numbness from waist down gettin worse some days cannot get out of bed, some days can only walk with help of walker. always use a cane now. Oxygen in use for 2 months due to inability to ge t enf air. does anyone know of any new studies that show how much progression this disease makes, what is expection of further disabilities
am currently on pain patches, cymbalta, plavix mirPEX & ithers.
responses will be appreciated
thank you
