Default Mike my husband

Hi my name is pauline and Mike is my husband early on this year about Febuary
Mike started to complain of aching in his calf muscle in his left leg well we thought it was a bit of athrits but it continued to his thigh and then his hip and also across his back so we made a doctors appointment he made a consultons
appointment but it was for 10-8-05 it seamed ages waitng for that appointment
anyway when they did acouple of mri's they new it had nothing to do with joints or muscles and referred him to a neuro surgen who after another mri and a spinal angiogram and a further spianal angiogram under general anathetic he said Mike has got A spinal avm they tried to embolize when he was under sedation but it was to dangerous so he his going to have surgery on 2-11-05 I have got no idea how he is going to be after surgery he is 54 the day before he goes into hospital and at the present time he can just get about the house with the aid of a stick he can not carry a glass of water because he would spill it all the littl things that we all take for granted to hear him ask for the most simple things it is heart breaking any way Iwill keep you all posted on Mikes prgress hoping it may help someone out there god bless for now Pauline.

Update: March 04, 2006

Mike my husband had his avm removed by open surgery on the 2-11-2005 for the rest of November and December. He seamed to be progressing at the normal rate you would expect to be at after major surgery but early January he started having the odd fall saying that his legs just gave way and then started having problems with his bladder and his bowel he his now waiting for a mri. He his very worried thinking that this is how he is going to be permanately. He still has a lot of other problems but these are the scary ones for him. Has anyone got any information after they had surgery it would be very help full as you know not many people understand the condition. Lots of good luck to any one going through this illness.
